Hello there, hi!

My name’s Thijs, I’m a 32-year old software engineer living in the Netherlands together with my wife and son. I use C# and .NET to translate brainwaves into working software.

I love..

.. bringing structure to messy processes and code
.. proving something *can* be done, and be done elegantly
.. solving complex problems by dividing them into simple solutions
.. thinking big and working small
.. helping you do the same

I hate..

.. messy things
.. settling for “okay”
.. “can’t”

I am just starting out here, still warming up my ideas, so in the meantime, I suggest you contact me with whatever is on your mind!

Let’s connect!

How can I help?

I want to empower other developers. I have thought about the right recipe for this blog, and as with any recipe, sharing other recipes with me and improving together can make the end result so much better.

My recipe consists of two parts deep technical ingredients, like:

  • Have you heard about how this cool new feature can help you?
  • C# X? What’s that going to be?
  • Do you have so much ancient software you don’t know where to begin to improve?
  • What is this “SOLID” I keep hearing about?

And one part (inter)personal ingredients, like:

  • Are you having trouble changing the status quo?
  • Do you have so much ancient software you don’t know where to begin to improve?
  • Are you stuck in your job, or do you see other team members struggling?
  • Are you still learning?
